I was "cleaning out pockets of my Patriot Guard Rider's vest. I came up on a map I created to visit Ray after I attend a funeral & burial for Veterans at the South East Veterans Cemetery. I had the map to be sure I got onto Cros Gates Blvd, Waverly then Right onto Woodruff Dr. as otherwise, I'd never remember how to get to Ray's house to visit him. I do think of Ray often. This old tattered map on how to get to his home is another reminder. Dick St. Romain/ 1956 TC Graduate w. Ray.

So very sorry about "Ray" as he is known to our family. Our association and relationship is through his deceased wife Mary Jean Owens. I can only say "What a Character", always so pleasant, kind and helpful. It makes me smile when I see his face. He was a genuine person. Our families prayers are with your family. Mary Schulte

It has been my pleasure to know Mr. Ray and Mrs. Maxine. From the first time we met at the Fontaine House, I enjoyed our conversations. Mr. Ray made me laugh. Tell Sr. Michel hello for me!

The Ashker and Carter Family would like to offer our sincere condolences to the Fontaine Family at this time. Mr. Ray worked with my Dad "Bobby Jack" Carter at Boh for years. He spoke highly of Mr. Ray and Mr. Ray of him. We have known the Fontaine Family for years, no finer family is there on the face of this earth! Mr. Ray will join Ray his son now who was the most gracious man i have ever known. Our prayers and love go out to all of you at this time..

Ray was a class mate at Thibodaux College, a team foot ball player with me for a foot ball team that was really small, and had few wins. But, we could handle it and go on to greate things with our lives and be proud! Ray did that with his life. Ray CONTRIBUTED to his Great Country. He studied hard in his schooling, volunteered to join the Army, came home to start suscessful, productive businesses that hired Americans AND BUILT THINGS FOR HIS COUNTRY! I'll miss stopping by to visit Ray after attending funerals & burials for our American Veterans at the South East Louisiana Veteran's Cemetery. Remember our Veterans. Visit them & thank them, while they're still with us! Dick St. Romain, Patriot Guard Rider, [email protected]
