Raymond Serefino Montalbano, Sr., age 83, of Metairie, LA passed away peacefully on February 10, 2022 after a lengthy illness. Raymond was born in New Orleans on August 31, 1938, to the late Benedict Raymond Montalbano, Sr., and Rosie Barbara Montalbano. Raymond graduated from De La Salle High School, proudly served in the Louisiana Air National Guard, and was an officer at Jefferson Savings & Loan for more than 25 years. Raymond is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Anderson Montalbano, his two sons Raymond Montalbano Jr. and Ronald (Wanda) Montalbano, his five grandchildren Jacqueline Zahn, Francesca Montalbano, Blake Montalbano, Palmer Montalbano and Carter Montalbano, as well as his brother Benedict (Irene) Montalbano, Jr. Funeral Services will be held at Lake Lawn Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124 on Saturday, March 5, 2022, with visitation from 10 am, mass at noon, and interment to follow. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to Dr. William Davis and his nurse Vanessa as well as Dr. Susan Gunn who provided exceptional care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Louisiana chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association (www.ccalouisiana.com) or the American Lung Association (www.lung.org).
