Raymond Webster Obituary

Raymond Webster, Jr. was born on June 13, 1948 in New Orleans, La and passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. As a child, Raymond Webster, Jr. attended the historical Antioch Baptist Church located in the Irish Channel of Uptown New Orleans. Raymond is a graduate of James Lewis Elementary School, Woodson Middle School, and McDonogh 35 College Preparatory Senior High School. He had a great appreciation for science, nature, philosophy, religious ideologies, and especially the arts in which he possessed talents displayed through his sketches and self - portraits, musical composition and as an instrumentalist playing the flute and guitar. After attending Grambling State University, Raymond embarked on a path of entrepreneurship in the Insurance industry, Real Estate and Property Management followed by over 40 years as General Contractor in Construction. Son of the late Rev. Raymond Webster, Sr. and Mildred Westbrook Webster. Father of Tyra Morgan, Mark Selestan, Dionne Gause, Dorian Webster, Sr., Derrick Webster, Dwayne Smalls, Sr., Melissa Dunn, Mickayl Davis, Myles Webster, Sr.; Brandon Mack, Clarence "Rabbit" Joyce and the late Marvin Selestan. Brother of Missionary Gwendolyn Rollins, Leonard Jasper, Gertrude Glodd Harris and the late Lee Artis Webster and Muammar Yusef Jobada formerly Carl Henry Webster. Former spouses Liz Mack Webster and Phyllis Holloway Millet. Also survived by 32 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, plus a host of family and friends. Preceded in death by one grandson, Marvin Selestan, Jr. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Gertrude Geddes Willis Funeral Home, 2120 Jackson Avenue from 9:00 am until 10:00 am.
