We are so sorry to hear of Mr. Rene passing away. I can still remember him sitting in his yard watching the Buras football games, and many of our girls Softball games. He loved his family, and I know they will miss him.

I remember when Rene took Bill and I out on his Oyster Rig from Buras. He allowed us to learn a little bit about the life of a fisherman. He was generous and loved his family. He always had a story to tell and a big Rene smile. I believe he wore white boots, coveralls and a teeshirt all the time back then. He told us of the riding out the storms and how he helped to crash through the levi to let water recede from Buras after one of the big storms. He was a gentle man. He will be missed but his presence is still in our memories.
