My deepest sympathy to the family and loved ones of Reynaud Alexander. Reynaud and I worked together for many years in the Orleans Parish school system. Always ready with a broad smile and a friendly comment, he was very well thought of by all who knew him, and that would include both adults and youngsters alike. He had charisma and talent to spare. As everyone knows, track and field was his passion, but people in general was his specialty. Everyone I knew who knew him thought highly of him as a person and as a professional. His passing will be a major loss to many. Rest in peace my friend, and God bless

Alex I was so sorry to hear of your death. A great coach you were. You coached me at Andrew J. Bell, where we were called the "Finley Flyers" named after our principle. You recruited me to run for Conrad Park and then ultimately I was one of your Dryades Street YMCA "Super Dames" Always pushing for us to do better as you knew we could. We all loved you! Condolences to your family and may you Rest in Heavenly Peace!

My deepest condolences to Coach Alexander's family. Coach was one of the best!! I was one of his many track girls. He brought us to track meets around the New Orleans area and out of state. Some of the girls had never traveled out of New Orleans. He also introduced us to fine dining by taking us to a banquet at Dookey Chase. He not only coached us but he believed in exposing us to things that some of us had only read or heard about. I know just like mine, every life he touched made an everlasting impression. I saw Coach a few years ago and he yelled to someone "this is one of our little ones"...what a thrill!! I felt like a teenager again. Your race is over Coach, thanks for the memories... take your rest

My thoughts, prayers, and heart felt condolences go out to the family at this time. Coach Alexander touched many lives and he transformed young athletes into champions from the inside out! As a coach, I admired his spirit and the manner in which he taught lessons, not just about sports, but about life. Your presence will be missed, but you are forever in the hearts and souls of everyone you touched. Thanks for all you did for the community. R.I.P. Coach!
