de Zayas Ricardo Benjamin de Zayas, age 75 years, peacefully went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, June 8, 2016. Beloved husband of 50 years to Elaine Diaz de Zayas. Loving father of Terri de Zayas Nielsen (Greg) and Ricky de Zayas (Michelle). Proud grandfather (abuelo) of Alexis de Zayas, Victoria Nielsen, Gregory Nielsen and Alexandria de Zayas. Son of the late Jose Bruno de Zayas and the late Mercedes Carmelina de Zayas. Brother of Bruno de Zayas (Vilna) and the late Lourdes Fernandez. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a native of Holguin, Cuba and a resident of Metairie, LA. Ricardo was a Christian man who always put God and his family first. He was past President and member of Club Cubano de Profesionales and enjoyed the company of many good friends. He was a parishioner of St. Philip Neri Church. He was a proprietor of a wholesale business for over 47 years. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd, New Orleans on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 1:00pm. Visitation will begin at 11:00a.m. Interment at Lake Lawn Park. In lieu of flowers, the family ask for donations to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
