Richard Harleaux Obituary

Richard J. Harleaux, Sr. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at the age of 85, in Fort Worth, Texas, He was born on March 20, 1936 in Chamberlain, Louisiana. He is the son of the late George Reese and Doris Domingue Harleaux, Sr. He was the devoted husband to the late Nazimova Ratleff Harleaux, and loving father to his children, their three sons, Richard J. Harleaux, Jr. and the late Damian Michael Harleaux and Stephen Gerard Harleaux. He was a master carpenter and avid sportsman. Richard is survived by his son Richard (Karmen Johnson) Harleaux of Fort Worth, TX; sisters: Labelle Demby of Donaldsonville, LA and Theresa Molina of Los Angeles, CA; Sister and brother-in-law, John A. & Rose Ratleff Bernard, Sr.; grandchildren: Devin Michael Harleaux, and his sisters, Shyanna and Shabri Green; daughter in law Schunel Green Harleaux; furry grand Bella; devoted niece Tonya Bernard-Richardson, longtime companion Genevieve Dent; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation 4-6 PM, Friday, July 9, 2021 at Demby & Son Funeral Home, 900 Magnolia St., Donaldsonville, LA 70346. Visiting continues 9 AM, Saturday, July 10, 2021 until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 1815 St Roch Ave., NOLA 70117. Entombment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 4000 Norman Mayer Ave., NOLA 70122. Masks required. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Richard Harleaux, Sr.'s name to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org or 800-227-2345. Please visit www.dembyandson.com to sign the guestbook.
