RICHARD RONNESETH Obituary

Richard Lyder Ronneseth, aged 83, loving husband and father, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, after being diagnosed with cancer in early April. Richard is survived by his wife Lois of 64 years, sisters Lynn Ellis and Sonia Chop, brother Ken, children Kevin (Lynne), Janice Bradshaw (Barry) and Joanne Pellerin (Randy), 7 grandchildren (Kimberly, Jolene, Charles, Hayley, Rick, Kevin and Sean), and 3 great grandchildren (Alina, Cassidy and Coen). He was predeceased by his son, Gary, and his brothers Earle and Allan.

Richard lived a rich, full life. Born in Edmonton, he lived most of his life in BC, the last 46 years on Vancouver Island. Richard worked for the CN Railroad for 20 years, then had his own company building houses and later formed a real estate company with his wife. In retirement, he volunteered at the Royal Canadian Legion helping to build a war museum and also as an auxiliary community police constable.

Friends and relatives describe Richard as a compassionate man, one who was bright, fun, supportive, with a strong sense of fairness, humour and appreciated by all who knew him. He always made time to listen. Richard will be truly missed. Celebration of Life will be held August 30 in Duncan at First Memorial Chapel at 1 pm.

I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Dick (Mr.Ronneseth). I have many happy memories of times spent with the Ronneseth family over the years particularly when I was young and they lived near our family. He was such a kind and gentle man. He will be missed. My deepest condolences to Lois and to the entire family. Love, Linnea Abbott (nee Lindberg)
