Rita McCarthy Eyler

Rita Eyler Obituary

Rita McCarthy Eyler, 80-something (her orders, not ours), reunited with her husband, Robert LeRoy Eyler, while surrounded by her loving family in her home on November 21, 2006. Beloved mother of Michael and Joanne, Suzy , Randy and Annell, and Patti and Allan; grandmother of Michael and Kelli Eyler, Joyce (Eyler) and Joe Catalano, Renee (Eyler) and Van Culver, Randy and Stacy, and Lisa (Eyler) and David Wenerd; great-grandmother of Robert, Katie and Sean Eyler, Seth and Hayden Catalano, Tori Jennings and Mackenzie Rita Eyler, and Meagan, David and Hanna Wenerd; and dear family friend of Valerie Rans. Born and raised in New Orleans; youngest and last of the Charles and Anna McCarthy family: Charles, Edward, Carmelita, Francis, Elizabeth and Timothy. Rita, a 44-year resident of Ridley Park, will be missed by all she touched - and fed - for her love of family, selflessness to others, strength of will, and faith in God. Selfless to the end, Rita donated her body to the Humanity Gifts Registry. The Memorial Liturgy was celebrated at Saint Rose of Lima Church, Eddystone, PA. Contributions can be made in her memory to the compassionate caregivers of Taylor Hospice, PO Box 147, Ridley Park, PA 19078.
