Rita LoPiccolo Obituary

LoPICCOLO Rita Jo Miller LoPiccolo, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, native of Salinas, Kansas and resident of New Orleans for the past 36 years, age 73 passed away on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008 after a short battle with lung cancer. Preceded in death by her parents Andrew Miller and Rose Manley Miller Nester, both of Kansas and 2 sons John and Joseph LoPiccolo of New Orleans. Survived by 5 children, Richard LoPiccolo, Laura LoPiccolo, Michael LoPiccolo, Daniel LoPiccolo and wife Valeria, Diane Jones and husband Joseph; 10 grandchildren Mark Bourgeois and wife Diana, Desiree Bourgeois, Heather LoPiccolo, Toni LoPiccolo, Jake LoPiccolo Storms, Ricky and Cecilia and Aurora LoPiccolo, Joey Jones and Ezekiel LoPiccolo; 5 great grandchildren Aaliyah Bourgeois, Dejah and Dan Miller, Hannah and Seth Bourgeois; 5 siblings, Patricia Berry, Deanna Gill, Karen Maes, Kenneth Miller and George Michael Nester and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Friends and family, Employees of Tulane University Law School and New Orleans Paddlewheels and members of the Community of John are invited to attend Funeral. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel of Schoen Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 12:00 Noon. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until Mass time. A special thanks to the caring doctors, nurses and medical staff of Touro Hospital for their unending compassion, especially Dr. Christopher Lege and Dr. Ellen Zakris.
