My Dearest Granny & Family,
I am at a stillness right now, many, many tears thinking of you today & everyday, your beautiful presence was always a delight with any celebration of family, friends, neighbors, church, community & even strangers. Granny always had a smile on her face as she prepared to tackle her next task with energy, enthusiasm, and optimism. You always gave the best advice on any topic or situations, just know that my heart is so, so heavy right now. My greatest gift was when I spoke to you last on the phone with Tee Shirley & Uncle Cliff, the chuckles of laughter with your birthday "102", so glad I got to hear your sweet voice again. I always know about St. Fatima & the role of Esther & the entire spiritual realm having faith in all that we do in life. I thank GOD for the greatest earthly reward, but HE needed you more, you have passed GOD´S TEST, because HE only takes the BEST!

Jacinta and siblings, you have my condolences.
I remember visiting Ms. Rita with Jay especially on Sundays after church. She would feed us and sit with us and have us cracking up with those old stories. We don´t realize as kids that when the elders sit and talk with you, they are giving you golden advice.
I may not remember everything she said, but I will never forget how warm she made me feel. I loved her like my own granny.

Sending condolences to Cliff, Shirley and all of Aunt Rita's grandkids and great grandkids. As a niece of this wonderful woman, she passed on some wise words to me when I was only a child of 10 or 12 years old that I remember to this day. She said "Young people act like love falls from the sky and hits them in the head. No, love is when two people DECIDE to care for each other and to be there for each other. Then that love grows." Then she fed me and my mom (Violet) a homemade dinner and a piece of her famous cake like she did everytime we came to town.
She and my mother were the best of friends and they talked several times a week FOR HOURS about everything and nothing. Now they are both together again gabbing about everything and nothing once again in Heaven. Love you Aunt Rita.

Rita was a thoughtful and caring lady to know and be with; very kind, generous, and hospitable. I´ll forever cherish memories of the abundance of joy Rita brought to my Mom (her cousin), Flavia Smith Hayes, through great conversations. I know your hearts will also be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate Rita´s life, well lived. May those memories give you strength and comfort in the love you shared with Rita.
May God give you strength for today, hope for tomorrow and comfort in knowing that as you say "Goodbye" for now, God says "Welcome home forever" to Rita. I know she´s enjoying a great reunion celebration with her family in heaven. Love & hugs; smiles and rejoicing for her heavenly glory. Amen
God will be your guide through this challenging time, as stated, "I will not leave you comfortless. I will come to you." (John 14:18)
