Robert "Bob" Boudreaux

Like the punchline of a Cajun joke-Boudreaux, from Thibodaux-Bob Boudreaux and his best friend Tibby joined the Army at 18 as part of the "buddy system." They were quickly separated, of course, and shipped off to opposite ends of the world-Bob to frigid Fort Niagara and then Okinawa, Japan, while Tibby went to Paris. C'est la vie. Finally returning to his natural habitat, in the warmth of steamy New Orleans, Bob became a regular at the Safari Club, enjoying the local live music scene of the 1960s. After bussing tables at Brennan's and going to night school, Bob married his first wife, Marie Arena, and had two children, Mike and Susan, who would both inherit his good sense of humor and amazing sales skills. Bob eventually forayed into the little-known art of the potato chip, building a career of 40 years at Frito-Lay and Dickey's. On his 36th birthday, he met his second wife, Deborah, at the bar at Visko's and they were together ever since. Bob finally got his trip to Paris when he paid a visit to his youngest daughter, Breton. Turns out it was cold there, too. Bob loved porch-sitting, eating boiled crawfish, watching old western movies, and surveying his immense backyard. He didn't like squirrels. Bob passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2017. He cherished his family, including his sons-in-law, Wes and Chris, and daughter-in-law, Tammy, as well as his six grandchildren, Nicholas, Jennifer, Hannah, John, Nute, and Gus. He will be missed by so many. Visitation will take place at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA, on Monday, July 10, at 9:00 am, with a service to follow at 11:00 am.
