Robert Bradley Obituary

Robert Thomas Bradley, Sr. entered into eternal rest at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana on April 28, 2017 at the age of 70. He was born in Franklin, Tennessee on May 28, 1946. Robert was preceded in death by parents Sid Bradley, Sr. and Mary Robinson Bradley; and one brother, Richard Bradley, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Carolyn Wilson Bradley, his only child, Robert Thomas Bradley, Jr., and grandson Robert Thomas Bradley III. He leaves behind six stepchildren: Arthur Wilson, Alice Wilson, Janet Magraff, Elaine (Arthur) Booker, Frank Wilson Sr., and Carolyn Wilson; one brother: Sid Bradley, Jr.; three sisters, Lucille Anderson, Mary Bradley, and Gladys Bradley of Franklin, TN.; four sisters-in-law: Ellarida Williams, Shirley Bell, Elaine (Willie) Atkinson, and Gloria Mouton; three nephews: Tim Bradley, Ron Bradley, and Richard Bradley, Jr.; two nieces: Shemeka Anderson and Rhonda (Michael); and two very devoted friends: Anita Spriggens and James Carter. Robert was loved by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He will truly be missed. Robert professed a hope in Christ at Greater Pleasant View Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee at an early age. Later, he united with Community Baptist Church in Nashville and attended Central Missionary Baptist Church in New Orleans, Louisiana. Robert was educated in the Williamson County School System in Franklin, Tennessee. He was drafted into the United States Army where he served a four year tour of duty. After returning home to Franklin, Robert attended Tennessee State University and Fall's Business College in Nashville. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Gabor and Dr. Layton of New Orleans VA Medical Center. Pastors and members of True Vine, True Light, New Home, Pentecost, Franklin Avenue, and New Orleans Triumph Baptist Church; employees of Brennan's restaurant, Universal Sodexo, John Ferrara Seafood, Folger's Coffee, Housing Authority of New Orleans, Faubourg Lafitte, professors and students of Nunez Community College and Southern University at New Orleans are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 10:00 am at Central Missionary Baptist Church, 1438 Alabo St., New Orleans, LA, 70117. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am. Officiating Pastor, Oliver P. Duvernay. Robert will be laid to rest at the VA National Cemetery in Franklin, Tennessee.
