Robert Cullom

CULLOM RANDY CULLOM Robert Lee Randolph Cullom passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. Mr. Cullom, the son of the late Edward Thomas Cullom and the former Dorothy Randolph Cullom, was a resident of New Orleans, LA for 47 years. He attended Southeastern University and served in the U.S. Army reserves. His lifelong career has been in banking. In 1984 he moved to Lafayette, LA where he worked as President of Southwest National Bank. During the 1980's and 1990's, as President of several other banks in the Acadiana area, his career focus shifted to working out problems with financial institutions. In 1998, after the sale of Guaranty Bank of Morgan City, LA he joined MidSouth Bank as a commercial loan officer. In 1992, he was named in Business and Industry Connection Magazine as "Best Banker in Louisiana'. He found competition in every part of his life. Whether playing sports in high school, heading a team of fundraisers for the United Way, playing gin with his friends, or while enjoying his favorite activity, golf, he always strove to win. Survivors include: his wife of 26 years, Yvonne Atkins Cullom; daughters: Elisabeth Lee Cullom and Lynne Margaret Rodrigue and husband, Anidas; son, Christopher James Cullom; grandchildren: Patricia Lynne Wiegand, Jack Daniel Regan, Jr. and Randolph Lee Regan; his sister, Dorothy McAdams Gilligan; and his brother, Edward T. Cullom, Jr. He was preceded in death by his son, Randolph Duncan Cullom. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, March 7, 2005 at Asbury United Methodist Church for Randy. Rev. Ira Robinson, Pastor of Asbury United Methodist Church, will conduct the funeral services. Visiting hours will be observed on Sunday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Delhomme Funeral Home. There will no visitation on Monday. Pallbearers will be Dr. Edward T. Cullom, Jr., Brian Jofrion, Jay Low, Mark Tolson, David Dabdoub, Leo Broussard, Rod Lunn and Dave Richardson. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at 3636 S. I-10 Service Road, Ste. 304, Metairie, LA 70001, 504-837-0945.
