Robert Hatem Obituary

Robert J. (Bob) Hatem, beloved husband of Patsy Perkins Hatem, died at his home in Kenner, LA on May 21, 2005 of cancer. Mr. Hatem was born in New Jersey and raised in Massachusetts. He graduated from Boston College in 1953. He was a chemical engineer for Shell Oil in Norco, LA from 1953 to 1990. He served in the Army at the Edgwood, MD Chemical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph M. Hatem and Julia Halleck Hatem. Survivors include his wife Patsy Perkins Hatem; his sister, Carole Hatem Embley of FL; brothers Donald and Kevin Hatem both of MA. Survivors also include nieces Juli Embley Browning of TX, Kathryn Embley of FL; nephews William (Bill) Embley and Scott M. Embley both of LA, Douglas Ryan of CO and grand nieces Jill Browning of TX, Kennedy and Taylor Ryan of CO, Ainsley Embley of LA and grand nephew Ben Browning of TX. His body will be cremated and his ashes scattered in Massachusetts per Mr. Hatem's wishes. Remembrances may be made to LSU Foundation, 2000 Tulane Ave., New Orleans, LA 70112-9961 or LSU Stanley Scott Cancer Center, 533 Bolivar, Rm 459, New Orleans, LA 70112.
