Robert Marrero Obituary

Robert M. Marrero, Sr. of Slidell, LA passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at the age of 66. He is survived by his wife Karen Marrero of 48 years, his children; daughter Brandi Forster and husband Kevin Forster, son Dr. Robert Marrero, Jr. and wife Dr. Belinda Marrero; sisters Susan Ferrera, Peggy Braniff and husband Glenn, Patricia Labarrere and husband Gerald; brother Calvin "Buster" Marrero and wife Elda. He is also survived by many wonderful nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Anna Schenck. Robert was born in March 1955, in New Orleans, LA. He was happily retired and enjoyed fishing, classic cars, and camping with his family. He enjoyed crawfish boils, kayaking, and spending time with his special baby yorkie, Zoie. He is considered the prank war champion and his contagious laughter will be missed by everyone. Heaven definitely gained a jokester like no other! A private family gathering to celebrate his life will be held on a later date. Condolences and tributes may be posted at www.serenitycovington.com.

March 8th is almost here. You would be 68 years young. Today we burried mom, your M-I-L. Have a cup of coffee with her. She has seen and spoked to you so much in the past few months. Now she is up there with you.
Love you

A year has come already. Seems like yesterday. Missing our camping trips, and canoe rides on the lake, grilling, and just being free.

It´s been a year already dad, I miss our early morning phone calls.....more like the middle of the night.....the most. I wish you could have been here a lot longer to see all the things we are doing but I know you´re watching over us and I guess that will have to do for now. Love you bunches your twelve year old little girl

Remembering that today would have been 49 years together, but that will never be. We will always stay at 48 years and 12 days. May the birds fly all day today.

You were gone in an instant, no time to say goodbye, I just keeping asking myself why!
We miss you everyday, can't believe this is real.
Just knowing one day we'll meet again is what is helping us heal.

God must have needed another angel to lend him a hand, he picked someone special, a very kind man. Your heart must have been aching but you didn't want to say, and now our hearts are breaking but we will be okay. We know that God has you in his care, and you are watching over us in heaven's reclining chair. We love you, Trudy & Greg Perez

I will miss you dearly Bubby, you were more like my brother than my brother-in-law. Al the years I have known you, we have never had even 1 disagreement, and when I was down you had a way to make me laugh. You made me feel like I mattered in the family and I will always remember you as the one person who enlightened my soul. Love Trudy

The Broken Chain
We little knew that day,
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death, we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you.
You did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.

You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide.
And although we cannot see you,
You are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.
