Dear Helen, Bob, and Peggy,
I was very saddened to learn of Bobby's death. I have celebrated several Masses for him and your consolation. Christ's rising from the dead means that death has been defeated: I realize that this may seem rather incredible at a time like this. Christ's resurrection is surely a gift, and perhaps a surprise gift. We of the Jesuit community have remembered Bobby and you all in our prayers this week.Be assured of our continuing prayers for your healing.
Love,
Stephen [Rowntree,SJ]

TO ALL THE PRESTON FAMILY AND EXTENDED FAMILY OF FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES:
I, TOO MET BOB ONLY FOR A BRIEF TIME WORKING WITH HIM DURING 2009. HE LEFT WITH ME THE SENSE OF KINDNESS AND GENTILENESS OF A WELL-EDUCATED AND FAMILY LOVING MAN. I PRAY THAT HIS SOUL IS AT PEACE, AND THAT IN TIME, ALL OF YOU WILL SOMEWHAT RECOVER FROM YOUR LOSS OF HIM IN YOUR LIVES.
