Robert Stevens Obituary

Former North Caldwell resident, 59 Robert C. "Bob" Stevens of East Orleans, Mass., formerly of North Caldwell, N.J., died peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, at Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, Mass. He was 59. A memorial Mass will be held today, Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of Notre Dame in North Caldwell, N.J. Born in Cedar Grove, N.J., on Dec. 4, 1948, to Almos & Cecelia Stevens, Bob attended and graduated from West Essex High School in North Caldwell. Bob then attended Miami Dade College in Florida before joining the U.S. Army, stationed in Fort Bragg, N.C., and Turkey during the Vietnam War era with the 82nd Airborne. Bob's business, "Off the Road Tire," was an independent commercial tire distributor for 25 years until 2001. He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Cathy (Casey) Stevens; three sons, Bobby Jr. of Waltham, Mass., John (J.T.), Patrick, and extended family members. He is loved, honored and respected by a magnitude of family and close friends. His legacy and his love for living will be remembered and carried on by all who were lucky enough to have had him in their lives. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital G.R.E.C.C. Dementia Unit, 200 Springs Road, Bedford, Mass., 01730.

Mrs Stevens: I knew Bob a long time, we worked together at R A McDonough . I considered him a friend, and was sorry to hear of his passing. I lost touch with Bob after he sold his business, again my deepest sympathies.
