I first met Bob in 1958 when we attended Bayou Boys State. As a testament to his leadership skills even at a young age, he was elected "Governor." Thereafter, I always affectionately called him, "Governor." Bob was also a rarity in high school, a left-handed quarterback. He was also calm, courteous, and considerate, which belied his courageous civil rights activism. He will be greatly missed for his pioneer role in city government. My wife and I extend our best regards and well wishes to his host of family members and friends.

My condolences to the family. Mr. Tucker was an inspiration to many, especially young Black men in New Orleans who could see in him possibilities. Mr. Tucker spoke at our graduation from Booker T Washington High School in 1973 and attended one of our reunions. May he rest in peace.
