Robert Warren Obituary

p>Robert William Warren, a resident of Pitman, N.J. for over 30 years, the only son of Anna Deronda Warren and William Warren went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 22, 2006. Bob graduated from John Hopkins University with a B.A. in Chemistry, served in the U.S. Army, and then received a Master¹s in Chemistry from Drexel University. He worked as an Organic Analytical Chemist for the Sun Oil Company of Marcus Hook, Pa. and was known for never missing a day of work throughout his career. Despite being out of the N.J. area for the last 18 years, Bob Warren will be remembered for his love of singing in the Pitman Presbyterian Church Choir and for his devoted service as an elder of this Body of Christ for many years. He greatly enjoyed working in his garden and spending time with his -animals, family, and friends.

In 1986, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elaine Culp Warren after over 33 years of marriage. He is survived by his wife Marilyn Warren of Toano, Va., whom he married in 1988; his children, Deborah Swindell (David) of Pitman, N.J., William Warren (Laurie) of Bear, Dela., Steven Warren (Ahshly) of Germantown Hills, Ill., and David J. Warren of Newark, Dela. Also mourning his passing are his stepchildren, Brian Driscall (Holly) of Middletown, Dela., and Julie Driscall of Virginia Beach, Va. Bob has nine precious grandchildren who will deeply miss him here on earth and a granddaughter, Kaylyn Elaine Warren, who celebrates with him presently in the glory of Heaven!

And so Christ Jesus, God¹s Son, has fulfilled the longing in our loved one¹s heart, now Bob sees his God “face to face”, and now he knows as he is known.

“For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.” (1 Corinthians 13:12).

A graveside service for Robert William Warren will be held at Manahath Cemetery in Glassboro, N.J. at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 29th. Family and friends are invited to attend as we thank God Almighty for Bob¹s life and lay his ashes next to our mother¹s.

“The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.” (Job 1:21b).

Debbie;
I was sorry to read of your dad's passing. This is a poem that someone gave me when my dad passed away, it gave me some solace and I hope it does the same for you:

Everything remains exactly as it was.
I am I, and you are you, and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it.
Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was.
There is an absolute and unbroken continuity.
What is this death but a negligible accident?
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well.
