Robert Wollfarth Jr. Obituary

Robert "Rob" Louis Wollfarth, Jr., age 51, of The Woodlands, TX, passed away on July 8, 2023, with his family at his side. Rob was born in Marrero, Louisiana, and resided in the New Orleans area for 49 years, before relocating to Texas in 2022. Rob is survived by his loving wife, Katie (Francioni) Wollfarth, and his four children, Joshua Wollfarth, Isabella Wollfarth, Caroline Grace Wollfarth, and Harry Wollfarth. He is also survived by his parents, Robert Sr. and Patricia F. Wollfarth, and sister, Jennifer Berner (Craig). Finally, he is survived by his loving in-laws, Lloyd and Karen Francioni, who consider Rob the son they never had, and by his extended family, The McGrievys, The Conzelmanns, and The Breauxs. Rob graduated from Tulane University in mathematical economics and received his Juris Doctorate and LLM in Tax from NYU. He was a longtime attorney with Baker Donelson, LLP, and previously Adams and Reese LLP, working with a host of local and national clients on mergers, acquisitions, and tax issues. Despite his professional accomplishments, Rob was warm, and humble, and never made anyone feel small. Rob loved like no other. He was one of the good ones. His wit, laugh, and sense of humor were infectious. He was the life of the party and loved entertaining family and friends. He was a wonderful father, who had no greater joy than watching his children grow and accomplish new things. He was thoughtful, kind, and generous. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Wonders and Worries at http://wondersandworries.org/, an organization that continues to provide Rob's children and other children with critical counseling during a parent's extended illness. Rob will be remembered for all of the love, warmth, and guidance he gave to his family and will be missed beyond words. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, on Thursday, July 13, 2023, starting at 11:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass in the Chapel at 1:00 PM. Words cannot express the loss of Rob. We lost more than a colleague at our Houston office. Even though Rob was an intellectual person and an accomplished attorney, he was meek and warm-hearted. His intelligent and accomplishment can be measured, but his beautiful soul cannot be measured. The loss of a beautiful soul brings memories that will last a lifetime in people´s hearts. Thank you, Rob, for leaving beautiful memories in our hearts. We will miss you dearly. May you rest in peace.

I was very fortunate to have known and worked with Rob for several years at Baker Donelson. We quickly became good friends, which was easy to do with Rob's outgoing personality. He would typically start a conversation by asking how I was doing and the same inquiry about my family. Rob's sense of caring was genuine and sincere. He blended that wonderful personality with an incredible understanding of tax law, which gave his clients comfort that they were in good hands even in the most difficult legal circumstances. Rob will forever be missed.

Rob and I worked together at Baker, Donelson for several years, and he quickly became my "go to" guy in the firm for esoteric tax questions. He'd always agree to help, no matter how busy he was, and he always got a good result for the client. And on top of that, he was just a really good guy to be around, I always enjoyed talking with him. RIP my friend, you deserve it, and you will be sorely missed. And I send my sincere condolences to his entire family.

I first met Rob when he came to Baker Donelson. I totally screwed up his first 12th Night Invitations and Rob could have thrown me under the bus and I told him he should, but he didn't. We worked it out and got all of his people invited. I always thought very highly of him for handling it the way he did. I am very sorry for your loss and may Rob rest in peace.

I will greatly miss his wisdom and wit, but mostly his friendship. Beyond Rob’s capabilities as an attorney, he gave steady guidance, keen wisdom and insight to clients developing exceptionally strong relationships, which went beyond the attorney-client relationship. Clients routinely conveyed how much they “loved working with Rob.” My prayers are with Katie, the kids and the family.

I fall short of the words to express my grief of the death of one of my bosses, Rob. It is true, "Rob was warm, humble, and never made anyone feel small." His soul was filled with warmth, pleasantry, and humbleness. He had a beautiful soul that will forever leave a trail of beautiful memories. Rob will always be missed.

To Katie, Kids and Rob's Family,
Thea and I were devasted to hear the sad news of Rob's passing. We are saddened to know of his illness and our thoughts and prayers are with you all. I enjoyed my time working with both Rob and Katie and valued our friendships. I have very fond memories of many lunches with Rob. He had an irreverent wit and quick mind. He will be sorely missed.
