Roland Ellis "Rolee" Arnaud

1952 - 2023

Roland "Rolee" Ellis Arnaud (age 71) was born April 7, 1952, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the union of the late William Ellis Arnaud and Leora Collins Arnaud. He was the 9th of 11 children. He was peacefully called to eternal rest on September 28, 2023. Roland was baptized into the Catholic faith at a young age at St. Raymond Catholic Church. He continued his devotion until his untimely move to Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jackson, Louisiana. Roland attended St. Raymond Catholic School and John McDonogh High School. He later joined the United States Army in November 1970. He was a lifelong employee of Housing Authority of New Orleans, remaining employed there even after Hurricane Katrina. Roland also played with The Crescent City Baseball League which was a great passion of his. Roland leaves to cherish his memories with his children, Michelle Simms, Darnell Arnaud, and Chanitra Lee, his 7 grandchildren; one brother, Carroll, one brother in law, Darrell Hithe, two sisters in law, Phyllis and Joann, and a host nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Leora, and 9 of his siblings, Carolyn Hithe, Emma Thomas, Winifred Paylor, Cecelia James, Helen Mackie, Lerna, Ronald, Eric and Errol Arnaud. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Mass Burial at St. Raymond Catholic Church, 2916 Paris Ave. NOLA on Wednesday October 11, 2023 at 10:00 am, Visitation at 9:00 am.
