Roland Thompson Obituary

Roland ''Hippy'' Thompson died on Tuesday, May 2, 2006 of Cancer. Age 41. Son of Oneil Thompson Sr. and the late Henrietta S. Thompson. Grandson of the late Ruth Davis, Grover Simmons Sr. and Mamie Wagner. Stepgrandson of Gertrude Simmons and the late Zackery Davis and Isreal Wagner. Devoted brother of Oneil Jr. (Sylvia), Donald, Kevin, Gail, Glen and Michael (Cotease) Thompson and the late Loretta Thompson. Brother in law of Brian Allen, Arlese, Carmen and Cotease. Godson of Rosaline Smite and the late Roland Simmons Sr. Nephew of Glen and Johnnie Wagner, Robert and Jennie Grover Jr., Simmons, Willie and Gertrude. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. A native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Violet, LA. Relatives and friends of the family, also Pastor, Officers and Members of St. Luke B.C. and Greater Round Hill B.C., employees and staff of St. Bernard School Board, Kirschman, C & C Construction, Mumphlly Oil USA and SCRMC South Center US Navy of Texas are invited to attend the visitation on Saturday, May 13, 2006 at St. Luke Baptist Church, 126 Poindexter Dr. (Braithwaite, LA) from 11:00 AM until 12:00 noon followed by a funeral service at 12:00 noon. Rev. Eric Campbell Sr. Pastor officiating. Interment English Turn Cemetery, Braithwaite, LA. NO WAKE. You may sign the guest book on nola.com/obits. GERTRUDE GEDDES WILLIS FUNERAL HOME IN CHARGE.
