Roland Williams Sr.

Roland Williams Sr., age 69, was born on March 17, 1954 in New Orleans, to the late Henry Williams, Sr. and Jean Marie Smith. He leaves to cherish his precious memories to his three children: Tashauwna N. W. Alarid, Retired Senior Chief Petty Officer of the U. S. Navy of San Diego, CA; Roland Williams Jr. a current member of the U. S. Air Force and Nikkia L. W. Jefferson an Accountant both from Jacksonville, FL; five grandchildren: Jasma Reddick, Jeyvon and Amaya Lanus, Keiyon and Kaiden Jefferson; Former spouse Sandra Williams Lockley of FL. Also mourning his loss is his mother Jean Marie Smith of N. Y., brothers Terry Williams of FL, Darryl Williams, Keith Williams of GA, Cheryl W. Luke and Glenn Williams both of N. Y. and Valerie Johnson Thomas of Chicago, IL. A host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his father Henry Williams Sr., sisters JoAnne W. Hickerson and Barbara Williams; brothers Henry Williams Jr., Tyronne Williams and Harold Brown; grandparents Victoria Huff and Joseph Roland Williams, Lousie Righteous and Harold Smith. Roland attended schools in New Orleans, LA and JFK High School in Bronx, N. Y. Lived many years in New York, Florida and later relocated back to New Orleans, LA with his father where he lived for over 27 years and retired from Ochsner Hospital of Jefferson, LA. Special thanks to his devoted niece Pamela Brown Henderson, cousins Turell A. Jones, Velinda K. Newton, helpful neighbors and local hospitals. Interment at Providence Memorial Park on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
