Roland Wilson Obituary

WILSON Roland "Buddy Red" Wilson, Sr. passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at age 86. Born in New Roads, LA to the late George Wilson and Beulah Jones Austin. Devoted husband of Florence E. Wilson. He was the father of Ronald, Connie, Mary Ann, George, Carl also the late, Roland Jr., Bruce, Ivory, and Janet Wilson. He also leaves to cherish his memory six sisters and four brothers, a host of grandchildren, great- grandchildren, relatives and friends. Mr. Wilson was a brick layer of local Union # 1 and served in the U. S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. Friends and relatives of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at 1:00PM Saturday, September 13, 2008 at Charbonnet Funeral Home, 1615 St. Phillip St., New Orleans, La. Visitation begins at 12:00PM. Interment at Promise Land Cemetery - Dalcour, LA. Arrangements by D. W. Rhodes, 1728 N. Claiborne Ave., New Orleans, La 70116.
