Ronald Patron Obituary

Ronald H. Patron, born November 12, 1944, entered eternal life with our heavenly Father the morning of June 24, 2024. As a New Orleans resident, Ronnie attended St. Dominic grade school, graduated De La Salle High School, and received a degree in accounting from Loyola University. His career path lead him to eventually becoming president of Oil Mop Incorporated, after which he became the Chief Financial Officer of Stewart Enterprises. He was instrumental in progressing both companies into publicly traded entities. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was a true patriot. Ronnie was also involved in our community, serving on the boards of the Boys Hope Girls Hope Foundation and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for over 35 years. He was a major contributor for the building of Mary Queen of Peace's Catholic Church, his beloved parish from it's first beginnings. As an immense lover of music, Ronnie was gifted with a beautiful tenor voice. Everyone loved to hear him sing. Ronnie was an avid golfer with a powerful swing and enjoyed playing courses all over the world. He loved to travel and took joy in bringing many family members and friends along for the ride. His second home in Navarre Beach, Florida was always filled with family, friends and Boys Hope Girls Hope kids. He loved going to the racetrack with his rat pack of friends from St. Dominic. He was a passionate Saints and LSU football fan. Wherever Ronnie went, he was always entertaining a large group. But more than anything, he truly loved being in the company of his wife, three children and the rest of his family. He considered his brother Dooty and his sister Maddy his nearest and dearest. Ronnie was deeply loved by so many extended family members and great friends. A character with a wonderful sense of humor, his laugh was infectious, and his presence was magnetizing. He was overwhelmingly kind and generous to others, serving a mentor and rock to those in need. He will always be loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. Ronnie was predeceased by his parents, Francis Smith Patron and Henry Patron, as well as his brother, Henry "Hunky" James Patron. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 yrs., Sandra Acomb Patron, his children, Angel Hall (Mike), Trisha Rovira (Rob), Ron Patron Jr. (Bobbie), his brother, Arthur "Dooty" Patron (Pamela), and his sister, Madeleine Caulking, grandchildren, Victoria Ruiz Baay (Stephen), Tyler Hall (Jessica), R. Thomas Rovira, Reagan Rovira, Reid Rovira, Addison Patron, Ronald "Trey" Patron, III, and great-grandchild, Brooks Baay. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who will greatly miss him. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Boys Hope Girls Hope of Greater New Orleans. I had the honor of working closely with Ron for many years. He was a joy to be with. He was one of the smartest people I have ever known and I learned so much from him. I will miss RHP but I am so grateful to have known him and to call him my friend.
