The calendar says another year has gone by, but I'm not sure I believe it. No matter how many years go by, I miss you the same. It's comforting to know that you are happy and not burdened with earthly concerns, but many times I selfishly wish you were here so I could share things with you in person. As I get older, I realize more and more how much I could learn from you even now. I eagerly await the chance to be with you again and make up for lost time. One day. I love you Dad.

In some ways, it seems like forever since you went home, yet it still seems like just yesterday you were sitting in our living room telling us stories of your days patrolling the streets of New Orleans. I love you Dad.

Not a day goes by that I don't think about Dad and pray for him. It is said that you don't know what you got till it's gone. So true. Every so often as I drive home from work, it still flashes through my mind to take the Eden Isles exit and stop by Valiant Lane for a quick visit (something I did not do nearly enough while he was here). But instead of being sad when that happens, I look at it the way my beautiful wife Carmen explains. Those moments are the times that he is watching me and thinking about me. It's his way of telling me he loves me. So now I look forward to those moments of considering doing something that is impossible for me to do. When those moments come, I say out loud as I pass the exit, "I love you too, Dad."

I know that there are no words I can say to ease the pain you are feeling now. However I hope that the love that you see that we all had for Ronnie helps to know that he was special.

Ronnie always welcomed everyone with his beautiful smile. It some how brought the sunshine with it.

I know that I was a luck person to have known him.

He always did things his way. I guess that is why he sang "MY WAY" so good.

There will always be things to remind me of him. When I see someone sky dive, or hear Frank Santra sing "NEW YORK NEW YORK" I will see and hear Ronnie.

He was one of a kind and loved by many

May God Bless you all
