Roslyn Michelle Payton

1967 - 2024

On January 12, 2024, at age 56, God called one of his most precious angels, Roslyn Michelle Payton, to eternal rest. Roslyn Michelle Payton was born in New Orleans, LA on August 3, 1967, to Bertha Payton and the late Lovell Payton, Sr. She was the youngest of 8 children. Roslyn began her early childhood education at William Frantz Elementary. She completed her education and graduated from the Audubon School for Special Education. After graduating Roslyn worked for the Arc of Greater New Orleans Center. Roslyn received Christ at a young age and was baptized at Walker Temple in Slidell, LA. Her faith was deeply rooted. She a member of the Macedonia Church of God in Christ where she participated in the Sunshine band choir. Roslyn then became a lifelong member of the Law Street Fifth of God in Christ where she also participated in the choir. After her relocation to Pearland, Texas, Roslyn continued her worship at the Evangelist Church of God and Christ and attended the Golden Rule Center. Roslyn had an infectious smile and personality. She enjoyed dancing and music. Her energetic and loving spirit will forever be remembered by everyone he encountered. She enjoyed her life to the fullest and radiated the Love of Christ to all she met. Roslyn was a beloved faithful servant of Christ, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. She leaves to cherish precious memories, her mother Bertha Payton. Her brothers Lovell "Brother" Payton Jr. (Shirley) and Darryl Payton (Linda), her sisters Evelyn Adams, Sandra Williams (Stanley), Terri Bracey (Kent), Pamela Ganier (Donald). She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and devoted friends. Roslyn was preceded in death by her father, Lovell Payton, Sr., and sister Regina Payton. Relatives and friends of the family, pastor, officers and members of Fifth Church of God in Christ and Macedonia Church of God in Christ are invited to share in the celebration of Roslyn's life on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the Fifth Church of God in Christ, 3007 Law St., New Orleans, LA 70125, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be begin at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Salvation Church Cemetery in Peal River, LA.
