Roy Pennington Obituary

Roy E. Pennington, a native of Mississippi, and resident of Gretna, passed away of natural causes at age 84 on March 16, 2018 in Gretna, Louisiana. Roy is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ethel Pennington. Roy is survived by their son, Roy Pennington Jr. of Houma, La, and daughters Mary Link Rutter of California, and Sandra Dugas of Gretna. Roy served in the Army in the Korean War and retired from Union Pacific Railroad as a locomotive engineer. Roy was a skilled woodworking craftsman and was a Mason, Order of the Eastern Star, Shriner, and ROJ. Friends and family are welcome to attend the Masonic and Eastern Star memorial service on Saturday, March 24 from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. at William D. White Masonic Lodge, 501 Amelia Street, Gretna, Louisiana, 70053.

Roy will be sadly missed by every member of Farhad Grotto, especially the "BUG PATROL". He loved riding with us in the parades and was always a class act. Prayers for Ethyl, his kids, and especially his daughter Sandra and her husband and my best friend Mark Dugas.
