Ruby Hebert Melinie

MELINIE Ruby Hebert Melinie passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at the age of 89. She was the cherished wife of the late Ivan P. Melinie Sr. (past member of the Elevator Union Local 16). Loving mother of Deborah M. Sylvera and the late Ivan P. Melinie Jr. Mother-in-law of Tommy Sylvera Jr. Daughter of the late Edric and Lucy LeBlanc Hebert. Sister of the late Dorothy Argeanton, Margie Miller, Herman Hebert and Eddie Hebert. Sister-in-law of Joyce and Kenny Boyer. Proud grandmother of Tommy Sylvera III, Troy Sylvera and Tanya Sylvera-Naquin. She is also survived and fondly remembered by her 5 great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Ruby was a native of Patterson, LA and a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish (where she was a member of the VFW Post 3706) before settling in Mandeville, LA. She was a dedicated and loving mother and friend to many. She will be deeply missed by all who were touched by her love, kindness and laughter. She was fun … and a tough old bird. Family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Manor of Mandeville for their care and compassion when it was needed most. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA, on Saturday, August 3rd from 11:00AM - 1:00PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 1:00PM.
