Ruth Arabie Obituary

Ruth Ann (Fox) Arabie, 84, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2018, at Wynhoven HealthCare Center, following an extended illness. She was born December 21, 1933. Mrs. Arabie was the youngest of 10 children born to Thomas Aloysius Fox Sr. and Ruby Lucille (Walsh) Fox. In 1957, she graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a BA degree in elementary education. In 1959, she married (the late) Delmire Joseph Arabie and traveled around the world with him, having lived in such exotic locations as Chad (Central Africa), Indonesia and Singapore. Upon returning to the United States, she served as an elementary school teacher for Jefferson Parish Schools. Mrs. Arabie was truly a beautiful and enormously talented individual who will be remembered for her many gifts, especially her wit, creativity, style and ability to play piano-and most especially for her vivacious spirit and how much she loved life and loved other people. She is survived by companion Bruce Kerr, lifetime friend Mrs. Marian Williams, Martin B. Fox, Jr. (Godson/ Nephew) and nieces and nephews: Janice Bradberry (Joe), Pat Touzin (Page Kohlepp), William Michel, Jean Doyle-Matthieu (Ray), David Michel (Sheri), Lynn Cornelison (Dennis), Terrilynn Quillen (William), the late Daniel Fox (Christine), Thomas Fox, III, Rachelle Adams (Randy), James Fox, Jr. (Cher) and Kevin Fox. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 11 am at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, 400 Verret St., Algiers, LA. Visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 1300 Vallette St., Algiers, LA on Monday evening from 4 pm until 8 pm and will resume on Tuesday morning from 8 am until 10:30 am. Interment, St. Bartholomew Cemetery, Algiers, LA. Family and friends may view and sign the online guest book at www.mothefunerals.com.
