CALDWELL Ruth May Roberts Caldwell on Sunday, December 18, 2011. Wife of the late Morris W. Caldwell, C.L.U. Mother of Patricia Jane Hihar, M. Richard Caldwell, Mary Kathleen Sklamba, Gregory John Caldwell, and the late William G. Caldwell and infant Thomas Robert Caldwell. Daughter of the late Rose Garland Roberts and Lloyd Buck Roberts. Sister of the late Rose Garland Roberts Nolan and Anna Jane Roberts Haydel. Also survived by grandchildren Jennifer Demarest, Stephanie South, Catherine McClain, and Gene Hihar, Jr. and great grandchildren Olivia Melville, Allison Zeller, Owen Melville, Daman Angle, Austin South, Christopher Hihar, and Georgia Garland South. Ruth graduated from St. Mary's Dominican High School and New Orleans Normal School. After Normal School and four children, she went back to school and earned her bachelor's degree, graduating Cum Laude from Loyola University with a Bachelor of Science in Education. Ruth taught at Bienville School and 7th grade C.C.D.A. at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic School. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 11:00 AM, with a Mass to be held at 12 Noon at LAKE LAWN METAIRE FUNERAL HOME 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery.
