Ryan Nicholas Welch

Ryan Nicholas Welch, 34, departed this life to join Our Heavenly Father on Friday, August 19, 2022. Ryan, a resident of Harvey, LA, was born on February 12,1988. He proudly served his country as an Aviation Machinist Airman in the U.S. Navy from 2007-2012 where he received many accolades. After his retirement from the Navy, he continued his career as a civilian which allowed him to travel to numerous countries doing what he loved. Ryan is survived by his loving parents, Susan Lanansa Welch and Howard Welch, his sister, Erica Welch Schweda (Eric), half-brother, Howard Welch, Jr., and his three nephews, Grayson Welch, Brayden Schweda and Matthew Schweda, whom he loved very much. He is also survived by his loving aunts and uncles, Jacqueline Lanansa, Henry Lanansa (Rose), Patricia Welch, Veronica Farve (David), David Welch, and Randolph Welch. Ryan is survived by his cousins, who were more like siblings, Tara Rodriguez (Jarrod), Justin Thibodeaux (Andre), Henry Lanansa, Cody Lanansa (Adele) and his little cousins who he adored, Jude and Joseph Rodriguez. Ryan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marie and Henry Lanansa and Grace and Thadeus Welch, as well as aunts and uncles, Rose Marie and Dennis Wallace, Priscilla Bourque, Geraldine Welch, Edward Welch, and Robert Welch. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Friday, August 26, 2022, from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. A Mass will follow in the chapel at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Hook and Ladder Cemetery in Gretna.
