Sammie B. Stanley, 79, of North Charleston, widow of Frank M. Stanley, entered into eternal rest Friday, March 17, 2017. The relatives and friends of Sammie B. Stanley are invited to attend her funeral services on Wednesday March 22, 2017. Viewing will be 2:00 pm and the funeral starts at 3:00 pm at CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
Sammie was born in Toombs county, GA, a daughter of the late Samuel J. Bland and Mary Ellen Tippett Bland. She was a homemaker and member of Midland Park United Methodist Church, she worked as a legal secretary for the Municipal Court of Savannah as well as a secretary at the Charleston Naval Weapon Station. She loved her family dearly and spent as much time as possible with them. She loved and served her church by being involved with several disciple groups and volunteer ministries. She enjoyed spending time and taking care of different cats over the years.
Sammie is survived by her son: Frank M. Stanley Jr of North Charleston, SC, step daughter Diane Larson of St Augustine FL and 2 grandchildren, sisters: Nora Elder, Mary Anderson, Shirley Bland and Emily Rue as well as many dear cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by Frank, her husband of 58 years and sister Virginia Bennett.
