Sandra Lea "Sandy" Preston

Sandra "Sandy" Preston, age 61, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, December 1, 2017. Sandy is preceded in death by her father, Frederick James Kennedy. She is survived by her mother, Norma Lea Kennedy; husband of 32 years, Russell John Preston; children Cassie Preston Gailmor (Aaron Gailmor), Graeme James Preston (Kimrey Preston), and Lillian Heather Preston (James Cramond); stepbrothers, Daniel Gonzalez (April Gonzalez) and Albert Gonzalez; and grandchildren, Jimmy Russell Cramond and Margaux Parrish Preston. Sandy was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on June 26, 1956. She moved around the country extensively as a child, finally settling with her family in Winter Haven, Florida. Sandy attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, where she studied marketing. She visited New Orleans in 1982 and fell in love with the city, the French Quarter in particular, and has been a resident ever since. She was passionate about the Vieux Carre as a sustainable residential and commercial center, working as a Realtor for French Quarter Realty for nearly 30 years. Sandy will be sadly missed by her family and friends and remembered for her smile, her laughter, and her great empathy and kindness. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel, 411 N. Rampart Street, New Orleans, Louisiana, beginning with a visitation at 10:00 a.m. and a mass at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel and Big Easy Animal Rescue (BEAR), 513 Dumaine Street, New Orleans, Louisiana.
