Santiago Manuel Prats

Santiago Manuel Prats passed peacefully on February 24, 2022, after battling the aftermath of a stroke for several years. Throughout his life, Santiago loved travel, adventure, and, most of all, people. He spent his childhood in Mexico City before traveling all over North America, eventually moving to Cancun where he met his wife, Marie. They ran an evening cruise boat company for several years, entertaining tourists and sharing their joie-de-vivre. They later moved to Louisiana, where he spent the rest of his life. During that time, he continued to make connections with nearly everyone he met, whether with his patrons at the restaurants he ran, his clients once he became a realtor, and, of course, his family. Santiago was a loving father and a devoted husband, and he quickly became an integral part of Marie's extended family. He is preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Marie Prats, and he is survived by his daughter, Natasha Prats and son-in-law David Pinner, as well as numerous siblings and siblings-in-law, Rosita and Enrique in Mexico; Guillermo in Canada; Lee, Dawn, Joey, and Mike here in Louisiana; Janel and Jim in North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
