Oh, "Heart," how I shall miss you in the coming years! We had some good times together, didn't we? I will always remember you as you were when we were last together --Thanksgiving 2009 -- laughing, chomping on soft-shelled crabs, me trying to keep up with you as you drove me around Covington and showed me your favorite places. I believe now that is how you wanted me to remember you. You've been a part of our family forever and we are all the more grateful that we had you for so long. Rest in peace, dear Sook. Love, love.

I love you, Aunt Sookie. You were my godmother, treasured friend of my mother Ginny Ratenburg Berns. Always I will remember your zest for life, your love for husband Eddie and sons Ed and Bob. Thank you for being the "mother" I needed all these years since my own mother was gone. I am the strong woman I have become because of the contribution you made in my life. I hope you are dancing with the angels and fishing with beloved Eddie. Suzy Berns Dougher, Vancouver, WA
