Sean was born September 4, 1994 in Columbus, Georgia; son of Sean Thomas Ruckman and Cassandra Alderman Neal. He was a graduate of Columbus High School and loved reading, writing poems, restoring silver and loved cooking. Mostly, he loved his family and dear friends.
Survivors include his father, Sean Thomas Ruckman and wife Michelle of Phenix City, AL, mother, Cassandra Marie Neal and husband Corey of Columbus, GA, sister, Julia Marie Ruckman of Columbus, GA, brothers, Jobyn Neal of Columbus, GA, Michael Ruckman of Phenix City, AL; maternal grandparents, Jerry and Diane Alderman of Syracuse, NY, paternal grandparents, David McCarson of Columbus, GA, Karen McCarson of Las Vegas, NV, numerous aunts uncles and cousins.

Sean, I once offered you the opportunity to come and live with us and go to LSU, but your dad couldn't stand the thought of you becoming an LSU Tiger instead of an Auburn Tiger. Perhaps he couldn't stand the thought of not being able to see you every week or two. Or maybe, you couldn't stand being away from him. I have wondered if your life would have taken a different path. But, then I believe that God is in control of all things and he wanted you to have an early homecoming. Some people just aren't meant to deal with the troubles of this world over extended periods of time. It was wonderful spending time alone with you in your space. Your auntie loves you dearly, though we didn't have nearly enough time to share our love and common passions. But, I'm convinced that time will come. If you get to Churchill, John Nash, or Socrates before me, take notes. Those are fewer people that I will have to talk with.

I still cannot wrap my head around the fact that Sean is gone. He was such a sweet young man. Even though he was only in our family for a short time, he was part of it and we loved him. We have some great memories of our family gatherings at the lake and holidays, etc. He will truly be missed! My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I was there on the day Seanie was born, and on the day we all said goodbye. He was called home way too soon, and I am heartbroken for all of us he left behind. I will continue to pray for all who knew and loved Seanie, especially his parents. Sean and Cassandra, I love you guys and I'm here if you need anything. May God bring us all comfort and peace now and in the days and months ahead.

I find solace in knowing you are now happy and free of pain. Sean and I had not spoken since high school but he was still my friend. He was such a wonderful guy, always laughing or smiling when I saw him. He made those days fun and bearable. I will miss him until I get to see him again.

You never ceased to amaze me! Your many talents, great cooking, vast knowledge of interesting subjects, quick wit, sense of humor, intellectual view points and abilities, great conversations, philosophy, quest for knowledge, numerous fun times, laughs that made me pee my pants, super good looks, sweet charm, and your undying love of family and friends, just to name a few. There is a forever after and I know you're there with God. I know that God never left you but carried you every step of the way on your journey till he brought you back home to Him. I also know you were better than me in more ways than one, which made me proud to be your mother. Such as your patience, grace, forgiveness, understanding, unselfishness, discipline, and love for humanity, just to name a few. You will always be my Sunshine and you have my heart.
