Shanon Karon Young, Jr. departed this life on Monday, November 21, 2022, at the age of 22. He was a native of Marrero, LA and a resident of Ponchatoula, LA. Shanon was a graduate of Edna Karr High School Class of 2019, and he played football as a defensive back where he earned 3 championship rings. Shanon was employed with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Department as a Correctional Officers. Fiancée of Madison Synclaire Williams; Shanon was also going to be a father in July 2023. Loving son of Shanon Karon (Sharon) Young, Sr., and Leila Rodriquez. Brother of Maria Stephanie Young, Ileana Dolores Austin, Trinity Shanay Young, Madison Isabella Young, Marvin "PaPa" Chest, Jr., and Mason Isaiah Young. Grandson of Stephanie Young (Cleveland) Turner, Juan Herminio (Carmen) Rodriquez, and Maria Rodriquez. Great grandson of Steve Young, Herminia Hernandez, and the late Hilda Lee Young, William and Lydia Rodriquez, and Moncho Grua Hernandez. Nephew of Sheena Young (Julian) Bradford, Shondreka Renea (Johnny) Helire, and Juan (Stephanie) Rodriquez, Sr. Godson of Jerry Elliot Young and Annette Jolly, also survived by a host of great aunts and great uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Macedonia Church of God in Christ, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Macedonia Church of God In Christ 3015 Louisa St. New Orleans, LA on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above-named church.
