I just happened to randomly look up this note ... I apologize for those who would may bring up tough memories ...
I was so blessed to work with her and Dr LeBrun back from 1988 to 1991 when I worked at Jo Ellen Smith Medical Center in Algiers Louisiana.
She was such a caring loving physician!
May she rest in peace ...

Although manymonths have passed since Sheelagh disappeared from our lives many months ago, her memory lives in our hearts. Her spirit, her laugh, and her "be your best" daily mantra still brings a smile. I know she's "out there" somewhere in the Universe(s), still using her selfless soul for the good of all.

It has taken me this long to come to some sort of terms with Sheelagh's death. I was shocked and horrified when I learned this news about 2 months afterward, and it was hard. She was one of the most wonderful physicians I have ever known! I knew that, when I consulted her for a difficult patient, we would get absolutely the best opinion and advice available, as well as total honesty and expression of her caring to our patients.
I used to encounter her in local gardener's supply stores, as we both loved our plants and gardening
Her death is a very major loss to her colleagues, and to her patients.
I deeply regret her loss.

I just heard of Dr. Malloy's passing today. I was in total shock. I worked with Dr. Malloy at JoEllen Smith and at West Jefferson in the Endoscopy Lab assisting her with her procedures. She was such a loving, caring and realistic person. Her patients and their loved ones always came first. She was not only a physcian but a caretaker. She would hold patients hands, get them up out of bed and on many occasions take the time to sit and feed her patients. Her laugh was amazing and contageous. She will be missed by everyone who ever came in contact with her. Rest in peace Dr. Malloy. You definitely made a difference in my nursing career.

I will never forget Dr. Sheelagh Malloy. It was an honor to have worked with her when I worked in the ICU at Jo Ellen Smith and at Meadowcrest. I learned so much about critical care from her but most of all I will always remember her kindness and compassion.

I have many fond memories of Dr. Malloy during our long hours spent at JoEllen Smith Hospital and Meadowcrest.
A few of those memories are:
-Working side by side on the most complex patients and making them better
-Introducing me to Dooney and Bourke purses and J.Jill fashions which are still an integral part of my wardrobe
-Talking about gardens and sweeping leaves
-Taking care of me when my asthma flared up and sending me off for my first weekend at graduate school in Alabama with a nebulizer and albuterol
-Stroking my head when I was sick or upset and letting me know it was going to be OK
-Volunteering to pluck the hairs from my chin when I got old
Sheelagh was the best and made a big difference in my life as well as many others.

Sheelagh was my best friend and godmother to my son, Elliott. She was very intelligent, very opinionated, and had that wonderful sense of humor and that great laugh. We had so many enjoyable dinners over the years. Patients loved her, coworkers loved her. She will never be forgotten.

I had the pleasure of working with Sheelagh at the height of her career and visiting her at the end of her journey. I doubt that anyone will ever forget her laugh. But what I will remember most is her way to look through you and know what you were up to even if you didn't. I will miss you until we meet again.

We are so saddened at this news. Sheelagh brought light and laughter to everyone. It was a joy to know her at UNO, to be her classmate at LSU and a privilege to have her as a medical colleague in practice. She was an original, a unique person in a world of sameness. She will be sorely missed. God bless.
