It breaks my heart that Sheri has left this earth far too soon. We met during tryouts for T.H. Harris Drill Team 28 yrs ago, and became fast friends. She was such a sweet soul and good friend. She fought so bravely, and I'm glad she is now at peace and pain free. God bless you, and your family, and may Sheri watch over you as an angel from high above.

I am a former Our Lady of the Lake School parent (my son graduated OLL School 7th Grade in May 2010) who heard of Mrs. Oubre's illness through the school while my son attended there. I have offered Perpetual Adoration Chapel hours for Mrs. Oubre and prayed that St. Therese of Lisieux and Zelie Martin, St. Therese's mom, would intercede for Mrs. Oubre since St. Therese's own mother Zelie also had breast cancer. I pray that St. Therese and Zelie Martin are welcoming Mrs. Oubre now in heaven, and will continue to intercede for your family and loved ones at this sad time. God bless you all, and in deepest sympathy.

I was talking about Sheri to a friend and she had this to share. When I heard it a smile came to my face because in heaven or not this is what walking in to a room of strangers would be like for Sheri;
"Passing at Christmas.....must be like walking into a huge party and suddenly finding yourself with a whole new family you did not know anything about, who welcome you with open arms and love!!" She is at peace now Joey and will never leave our hearts.
