Shirley G. Rogers Williams

1938 - 2022

Shirley G. Rogers Williams, native of Louisiana, transitioned to her heavenly home on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at age 83. She was born on August 7, 1938, to Gabriel Rogers Sr. and Bernice Delesbore in New Iberia, LA. She was a graduate of Berkeley High School, Berkeley, CA. She returned to New Orleans, LA, and married L. P. Williams of Jackson, MS and to this union 6 children were born. Preceded in death by her parents & her 7 siblings: brothers Gabriel Rogers Jr. and Harold Rogers, and sisters Doris Hines, Marion Rose, Carol Rogers, Gail Byrd, and Jacqueline Cole. Survived by her loving children: Michael Williams, Sr., Diana DuPar, Lynn Williams, April Williams, Royce Williams, and Lance Williams. Shirley is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, for 10:00 a.m. at St. David Catholic Church, 5617 St. Claude Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70117. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Due to Covid-19, all attendees are Required to wear face masks.
