STANLEY KNOPFLER Obituary

KNOPFLER, STANLEY L., 89-1/2, of Pembroke Pines, FL, passed away March 9, 2010. He was born in the Bronx and grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y. with his parents, Sarah and David and sister Harriet. Stanley enlisted in the U. S. Army and served in WW II where he was awarded a Silver Star Medal. In 1948 he married his beautiful wife Beatrice. He worked in the family flooring business in Newark, N.J. before relocating his family to Lakewood, N.J. There his career spanned over 20 years with the U.S. Postal Service, as a mail carrier. He was a caring, giving and beautiful human being with a great sense of humor, a loving and devoted family man and a proud member of the Jewish War Veterans. He loved to bowl, play tennis & was an avid baseball fan --most recently a huge Florida Marlins fan. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 61 years, Beatrice, his first born and adoring daughter, Gail Knopfler, of Boynton Beach, his dedicated, soul-mate, best friend & loving daughter, (who he sponsored in Chiropractic college) Dr. Susan Knopfler, D.C. of Florida, his dear daughter & son in law Phyllis & Sam Berkowitz, of Pembroke Pines, who blessed him with 3 grandchildren, Leah, Ilan, Danielle & 1 great-grandson, Matthew. He is deeply missed and will live on forever in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. View this Guest Book at www. MiamiHerald.com/obituaries.
