Stella Penn

1929 - 2021

Stella Penn passed peacefully in Baton Rouge the afternoon of September 21. Her loving family surrounded her during the last days of her life. Stella was born February 25, 1929, and died at the age of 92. She was a native of Kenner, and a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She was a loving and devoted mother to all and loved by everyone who had the opportunity to get to know her, she enjoyed welcoming others into her home. Stella was truly a remarkable woman. She was our personal Angel on earth. She was a faithful Christian and belonged to several Baptist churches, but her home was with New Zion Baptist Church. She was married to Sgt. Robert Penn for 43 years who preceded her in death in 2001. Her parents Ernest Simon Sr. and Emma Simon, her siblings Ernest Simon, Jr., Emile Simon and Gertrude Simpson and two grandsons Ronald Corey Penn, Jr., and Kentorey Penn., also preceded her in death. She is survived by her six children, Donald, Ronald (Sonya), Brunsey (Michelle), Kevin, Shawn and Mark Penn, including 16 bonus children, 90 grandchildren and 65 great grandchildren. Stella's Funeral will be Monday, October 11, 2021.
