This brings great sadness for the loss of my first call party as a waiter at sal and Sam's restaurant 4300 Houma Blvd. As a career waiter, of 28 years I remember busing Mr. Steve and Ms. Pats table often competing with other bus boys for the bordellos tended to spoil us. It was them and their kindness that granted my promotion to waiter, to head waiter, then to manager from 1995, age 14, to 2007, age 26 at sal and Sam's restaurant where he, Ms. Pat, Trish and of course son in law Darren that gave me his tuxedo so I wouldn't have to go buy one when I went into transition of busser to waiter, and also had me cook bananas Foster at his house for a Halloween party, and to put gazebo on display. Sorry I'm replying late, but feel it necessary to let everyone who sees this know, along with his son Steven jr, wife Cynthia and three kids, whom I got to wait on at tony angellos and Andreas after hurricane Katrina. That I owe all my character, success in career, and love for what I do to them. My heart goes out to family for loss, and offer my apologies for not staying in touch better, and how Mr Steven at one time was more of a father to me than my call party. Dining with them at Vincent's and competing with all my friends and fellow waiters to wait on them. Those precious memories are forever engraved in my soul. Made it the best time of my life, and will let my many call parties know that the first came from the greatest place to grow up in my field. I miss, appreciate, and would do anything to have that great time in my life back. And would love to offer my sincere apologies and gratitude in person for the the family, because they all carry Mr Steven genuine and and Angel like presence. God bless.

So sorry Stephen, for you and your family's loss. We just found out. Jerry often talks about Mr. Borrello and his talents with Dunkin Donuts. He speaks of you often as well.

Pat, Rose Marie and family, please accept my sincere condolences at the death of your dear Father. I remember you so well from my teaching days at St. Philip Neri, when I taught Rose Marie in 8th grade. Years later, in 1997, I saw her again at West Jefferson Hospital as she was my brother-in- law’s nurse. God bless you and give you grace and strength as you grieve your husband and Dad. May he rest in the PEACE of Christ!

My dear Pat, Steve, Rose and Trish. My heart is breaking with you. We love you all so much and we loved Steve and we cherish a friendship that spans almost 60 years. Steve is playing music among the heavens entertaining the Angels and almighty God. Steve was a special kind of man, a devoted father, and a husband that put his wife above all else. Pat we were both lucky to have husbands that treated us like queens. My family sends our live, prayers, and know we are holding you in our arms. We love all of you.
Love Marlyn Lima and Donna, Peter, Sandy, and Darleen. The entire Luma family keeps you in our hearts.

Miss Pat, Trish, Darren and family,
I’m sorry to learn of Mr. Steve’s passing. He always talked about the friendship that the two of you shared with my mother when y’all were in school. Mr. Steve was always a gentleman and a CLASS ACT.
It was great to see him at Darren’s retirement dinner.
Never forget that your memories of/with him will remain in your hearts for eternity.
Prayers for the entire family.
