Sydney Claire Toca Condon passed away peacefully on April 19, 2022. She was born in New Orleans on October 22, 1928. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Philip George Condon. She is survived by her son Craig George Condon (Lisa) and daughter Kathleen Condon Antoine (Jimmy) and her beloved grandchildren Caroline Condon Fleiner (Dustin), Louis Lanza IV (Jolie), Aimée Antoine LaHaye (Nicholas), Jean-Paul Antoine and great grandchildren Sydney Anne, Celia, and Avery Fleiner, Adalynne Lanza, Lucas LaHaye, and Louis Lanza V. She is also preceded in death by her parents Sidney M. Toca and Gladys Cocke Toca, her brother Melvin M. Toca, her daughter Karen Condon Lanza, and her grandson Jonathan L. Lanza (Catrina). She is the sister-in-law of Alice Walker Toca. Sydney Claire grew up enjoying her summers at her grandparents' home, Cocke's Roost, on the Mississippi Gulf Coast with family and friends. She was loved by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Sydney Claire was a graduate of Our Lady of the Rosary School and St. Joseph Academy. She was a member and officer of the Metairie Women's Club. She will be forever missed for her devotion to her family, her passion for gardening, and her exceptional Creole cooking! Services will be held on Monday, April 25, 2022 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 3368 Esplanade Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70119. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Funeral Mass and burial in St. Louis Cemetery #3. Greenwood Funeral Home, New Orleans, LA 70124 is in charge of arrangements.
