Sylvia Wright Stern

SYLVIA WRIGHT STERN, cherished Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Aunt and Friend, died on Monday, November 9 at the age of 93. She was a graduate of Lindenwood College in St. Charles, Missouri and for over 50 years, a resident of New Orleans, where she actively volunteered in the Hemodialysis Unit of Touro Infirmary (named in honor of her late father) and Children's Hospital, among other organizations, which she and her late husband supported in varied ways. She will be remembered for her grace, humility, other-directedness, limitless compassion and generosity. Her deep love of family and friends was legendary and defining and she considered both to be the greatest privilege of her life. A native of Eunice, Louisiana, she was the daughter of the late Sadie and Louis Wright; sister of the late Morris Wright, Sophie Wright Kerstein, Sidney Wright and Lillian Wright Levin; and aunt of the late Joan Kerstein. She was predeceased by her adoring husband of 54 years, Warren L. Stern. She is survived by her sons Robert W. Stern and Charles W. Stern as well as her sister Beth Bloch Rosenthal, all of New Orleans.
