Tenie M. Guenther, (92), of New Orleans, Louisiana passed away peacefully on July 2, 2024. Ms. Tenie was born on November 24, 1931 to Joseph & Dora Culotta Misuraca in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was laid to rest on July 8, 2024, alongside her parents Joseph & Dora and beloved husband of 57 years Julian Guenther in Greenwood Cemetery. Ms. Tenie didn't refer to people as strangers, rather as friends she had not yet had the pleasure to meet. In her company, everyone felt special. Gently reaching for your hands in a personal conversation, her thoughtful questions and sincerity left you feeling as if you had known Ms. Tenie forever. A natural storyteller, Ms. Tenie effortlessly weaved stories about her past, with New Orleans as a colorful backdrop for her adventurous life. Whether her younger years in the Marigny on Kelerec Street, or later years in Lake Oaks, everyone knew Ms. Tenie. Her love and passion for horses was well known. An entrepreneur at heart, Ms Tenie attended F. T. Nicholls and began a career in hospitality for the Royal Orleans of New Orleans. She then purchased a beauty shop in the same building where her husband Julian operated a television repair shop. In 1984, Tenie purchased Louisiana Variety Wholesale, managing day-to-day wholesale operations until the present. Ms Tenie is predeceased by her parents, Joseph & Dora Colatta Misuraca, husband Julian and brother Victor J. Misuraca. Tenie is survived by her two sons, Joseph S Delaune (Rhonda) & James F. Guenther, sister Jo Ann Misuraca Ose (Pete), and niece Vickie Misuraca Bonura (Lenny) and great nephews Brandon and Thomas.
