Thomas Algere

1945 - 2023

Thomas Algere, a man greatly loved, a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend has sadly passed away. He was born on December 6, 1945 in New Orleans, LA where he remained a lifelong resident until his passing was announced on July 26, 2023. Thomas is predeceased by his mother, Mildred Thomas; father, Raymond Algere', Senior; sister, Dorma Algere' and brother, Raymond Algere' Junior, and Linda Algere. Thomas is survived by his five children Chonita Algere' and her daughter, Ju'Leiahna; Letina Algere', and her two children Amayah and Stone; Thomas Algere', Junior; Kishiana Algere'-Pea and her husband Richard Pea', and their four children and four grandchildren, Kishyron and her two children, Kari and Zuri; Destine', Byron, and his two children, Jaice and Bryson; and Courtiana; Tiya (Algere') Rucker and her husband Derrick Rucker and their three children, Isiah, Marvin, and Kamrynn; and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. Thomas was a dedicated member of Fischer Community Church. Although retired, he worked at Kings Charter School as a Crossing Guard. He enjoyed dancing, listening to music, building train models, bike rides, dressed to impress, always giving to others and spending time with family and friends. He has left a mark on everyone's heart and will be greatly missed for the love he gave but remembered for his love of music, upbeat personality and his jokes. Let's not forget his favorite saying, "Dig it, check it out, right on - I know that's right!" Thomas is cherished by all. His family appreciate your prayers, love, and support during this difficult time. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 19, 2023 at Fischer Community Church, Westbank, 1737 L. B.
