Thomas "Tommy" Bordelon

Thomas "Tommy" Bordelon, a retired barber of 54 years, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the Southeast War Veterans Home, surrounded by loved ones. Beloved father to Annette Thornton (Michael) and Charles Bordelon (Lynn). Grandfather to Andew Thornton (Judith), Ashleigh Thornton, Jordan Bordelon and Sarah Bordelon. Great-grandfather to Andrew Thornton, Alejandra Thornton, Audrey Thornton. Survived by his sister, Vernell Mumfrey (Gerard M) and cherished nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by sons Thomas Bordelon and Neal Bordelon. Tommy was a native of New Orleans. He serviced in the United States Air Force as a sergeant from April 1951 through February 1952. Special thanks to the staff, volunteers and residents of the Southeast War Veteran Home who loved and cared for him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124 on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will begin at 10:30 A.M.
